Put the Squeeze on the QGD
Breaking down the Queen’s Gambit Declined is one of the biggest headaches for 1.d4 players. From club level all the way up to the World Championship, the QGD remains popular at all levels. Fortunately for us, this means that time spent studying how to defeat it will be useful for our entire chess playing careers.
This repertoire is written by a club player, for club players. It’ll show you the key strategic ideas of how you should play against the Queen’s Gambit Declined.
With some nuances depending on Black’s move order, this is the setup you’ll be aiming for.

the knight is developed to e2, giving you the option to play f3 + e4 later in the game
You’ll learn different plans and ideas to play the resulting middlegames. You might aim for the e4 break and central control, as above. But you’ll also have options to play for dominance of the queenside.

White will restrict play on the queenside and then squeeze
This manageable and compact repertoire features just 119 trainable variations, which makes it a great way to handle one of Black’s major systems without spending your entire life studying. You’ll back up the theory by studying the model games to see how the greats play these positions in practice. Examples by GMs Magnus Carlsen, Wesley So and Matthew Sadler demonstrate exactly how to handle this opening.
This is villagebuster’s first Chessable course. He’s rated over 1800 FIDE and plays this repertoire regularly in his own games.
