Description
Award-winning author and four-time US champion Grandmaster Yasser Seirawan presents his highly popular strategy manual Winning Chess Strategies in the video format for the first time!
Lessons from TWO legends
Winning Chess Strategies was written by GM Yasser Seirawan in collaboration with legendary trainer and author IM Jeremy Silman. First published in 2003 it quickly became a best-seller thanks to the combination of Yasser’s golden storytelling gift and Silman’s unequaled skill in structuring chess material for the club player.
It is THE book that any aspiring player should have at least studied once.
And, now we’ve taken a modern classic and made it even more modern with Chessable’s MoveTrainer®.
Learn how to “read” the board
Our latest edition packs the same game-changing instruction but it now comes with 224 training positions and over 10 hours of video instruction by The Yas himself.
These lessons have been designed to teach you how to “read” the board to start playing chess on a deeper level.
Here’s what you’ll learn:
🥇 How to convert your extra pawn or piece to win the game
🥇 How to stop your opponent’s plans
🥇 How to find the ideal squares for your pieces
🥇 How to turn your average knight or bishop into a monstrous minor piece
🥇 How to identify weakness in your opponent’s position and attack them
🥇 How to use a space advantage and/or how to create one
🥇 How to patiently build up a big attack
And much more!
GM Seirawan also goes over model games, to show you how the greats use these same strategies in their own games to win the game.
Yasser Seirawan is the unequalled king of storytelling in chess, and one of chess’s most beloved personalities. What better way to get an introduction to chess strategy than hearing it from the man himself.

Some courses handled the opening principles nicely
Henry (verified owner) –
he gives you basic principles that just works 90% of the situations – it sounded silly to me at first, but then it became a daily prayer
Oktavia (verified owner) –
Another problem I faced was during my well-planned opening, sometimes opponent would bring the queen out

I’ve only reviewed all the black lines but I am liking the author’s approach of adding exercises after each chapter to make sure you are looking at the positions themselves rather than just routinely memorizing the lines without absorbing the content of his commentary.
Steven William (verified owner) –
For taking all the fun out of my chess games. I never thought anybody would be cruel enough to make winning so easy that chess has become boring.
Chelsi (verified owner) –
Really good course
Porse (verified owner) –
I would never recommend this book to anybody that I would consider a beginner, and maybe not even a “casual” player (depending on the definition).
Julian (verified owner) –
Even when one of my opponents didn’t follow theory, which often happens with beginners,

I bought this course with video few weeks ago (thanks to @JRHat for recommending it to me).
