Seize The Moment And Snatch The Advantage
With These Winning Chess Tactics!
One perfectly timed maneuver can tip the game in your favor.
BUT you’d better recognize and pounce on the opportunity as soon as it appears. Or else, a simple defensive move by the opponent can ruin your ambitions.
In part two of their hit series, Grandmaster Yasser Seirawan and International Master Jeremy Silman show how you can become that hawk-eyed player, who can see Winning Chess Tactics from a mile away.
Timeless Lessons
From Two Of The Finest Chess Teachers Today
First published in 2003, Winning Chess Tactics blended Yasser’s gift for storytelling with Silman’s skill in organizing instruction for club players.
The book gives motivated students the tactical foundations they need to rise above their class.
And now, you can experience the same game-boosting instruction – with the convenience and learning science of MoveTrainer®!
Our latest edition treats you to 3 hours and 23 minutes of video-sync lessons. With his newbie-friendly and riveting presentation style, GM Seirawan teaches you:
⚔️ The basis of almost every tactical operation, according to a Soviet chess legend. This idea alone can simplify your learning for the ENTIRE course.
⚔️ Develop your spidey senses with “Silman’s Rules of Recognition.” This 4-point cheat sheet tells you when to start looking for tactics – and when to settle for simple improvements to your position. (Saving you valuable thinking time.)
⚔️ How to exploit a weakened king to deliver unstoppable checkmate, ransack the enemy position, or save your game from the jaws of defeat.
⚔️ Little tactics that gain massive advantages, such as pins, skewers, decoys and more. These two- to four-move combos can leave you way ahead in material, or even force instant resignation.
⚔️ Form batteries that multiply the potency of your pieces, giving you enough horsepower to break through files and diagonals.
⚔️ Unexpected sacrifices that accelerate your attack. These explosive moves not only leave the opposition defenseless; you’ll love flexing them on your friends, too!
After the core instructional chapters, you get a dose of inspiration through 16 deeply annotated model games. Watch how the finest chess tacticians created brilliancies, and learn how you can set up winning shots yourself.
The Chessable edition also features 280 exercises and test positions, which let you track your progress and hone your newfound tactical skills.
So when you finally sit down to play, you’re 100% ready to unleash smashing combinations worthy of the books.

As a beginner it’s easy to get overwhelmed by big repertoires but this one has the perfect number of lines and yet,

I’ve only reviewed all the black lines but I am liking the author’s approach of adding exercises after each chapter to make sure you are looking at the positions themselves rather than just routinely memorizing the lines without absorbing the content of his commentary.

he gives you basic principles that just works 90% of the situations – it sounded silly to me at first, but then it became a daily prayer

Some courses handled the opening principles nicely

I have tried a few free and paid repertoire courses but I continued to face a challenge with them
Dylan (verified owner) –
In two recent wins, my opponents failed to follow the golden rules, making it easy for me to win the games.
