Description
With relatively little theory to learn and a comfortable position out of the opening almost guaranteed, it’s no wonder why players of all levels take to the London System. Even top pros like Magnus Carlsen, Levon Aronian, and Alireza Firouzja are regularly employing this versatile approach to the opening in their tournament games.
But with all eyes on this opening, Black is trying hard to fight for an advantage, forcing White to do the same. How can the ambitious London System player ensure winning results keep coming?
Learn the London System As It Is Played by the World’s Best
As one of the strongest rapid and blitz players in the world, Grandmaster Liem Quang Le knows how to use the London System with deadly efficacy in even the toughest tournament conditions. In fact, the former World Blitz Champion and super GM demonstrated it repeatedly in the 2021 Chessable Masters where he used it to finish 2nd place ahead of big name players like Hikaru Nakamura and Vladislav Artemiev!
Now, you can learn the same London System GM Liem uses to beat the big guys. For his Chessable debut, he’s dedicated extraordinary time and energy into making this course the only guide to the London System you’ll ever need.
What’s Inside the Repertoire?
Although you often get that beautiful c3, d4, e5 structure with the bishop on f4 and knights on d2 and f3, GM Liem has made some slick modifications to this Lifetime Repertoire to give your London System an extra edge versus the competition.
You’ll learn how to:
♟Fight kingside fianchetto systems with the aggressive e5. Quickly set up a kingside attack with a knight-kicking e5. GM Liem shows you the proper deviation from the typical London setup to maximize your readiness for an assault on the Black king
♟Navigate tricky Nimzo and Queen’s Gambit Declined setups. GM Liem shows you how to put up a fight when Black tries to steer the opening out of the London System with these solid yet often tricky defenses
♟Shut down Slav attempts comfortably with an early c3. Learn the move order finesses of an early c3 when Black hesitates to move his king’s pawn, granting you a comfortable opening where Black can claim no advantage
♟Defy the Dutch with move order precision. With 1…f5, the London System still “works like a charm” as GM Liem says, but move order is everything – you’ll learn how to be precise in every line to keep Black passive and keep your winning chances alive
♟Contemporary model games to show you the plans in action. GM Liem has chosen and annotated recent games which superbly demonstrate the tenacity of the London System against even the world’s strongest players – Shankland, Vachier-Lagrave, and Caruana just to name a few!
While you’ll sometimes deviate from the typical London setup in this repertoire, one thing will always remain true: if you stick to the recommendations in this course, you will get a doorway into an equal or better middlegame, no doubt about it.
In just over 200 lines, you’ll have a complete London System repertoire that will last you a lifetime. And so you can start seeing results immediately, you’ll also have an 18-line Quickstarter Chapter that you can get down in even a day of study.
With smart recommendations and explanations from one of the top players in the world, this lightweight repertoire is the ultimate weapon for players who have little time but a strong drive to win. Take up Lifetime Repertoires: London System and maximize your results with this versatile opening today!

Even above beginner level, knowing the first ten moves is usually sufficient, and the variations in this course average nine moves.

I’ve only reviewed all the black lines but I am liking the author’s approach of adding exercises after each chapter to make sure you are looking at the positions themselves rather than just routinely memorizing the lines without absorbing the content of his commentary.

I have tried a few free and paid repertoire courses but I continued to face a challenge with them
Agus (verified owner) –
he gives you basic principles that just works 90% of the situations – it sounded silly to me at first, but then it became a daily prayer

At this level this course covers a sweet spot.

Really good course

I think many of these reviewers forget what it was like to be a beginner, or a casual player.
