International Master Christof Sielecki uses his renowned instructive prowess to set you up for a strong start to the game. Sielecki presents a compact course and keeps it entertaining with counterattacking lines.
Striking the perfect balance of fun, easy-to-understand, and theoretically sound – it’s a must-have for any beginner.
Inside you’re presented with the most important ideas boiled down into the bare essentials to give you fighting chances as Black.
First, you’ll learn the general opening principles that will guide you in any situation – even if White doesn’t play the exact moves in the course. Then, you’ll learn how to fight each of White’s main moves, including:
♟ 1.e4 with the Sicilian Defense – this is what Black plays when going for a win against the King’s Pawn opening at all levels, giving you the most interesting games, and the most attacking chances.

Fighting for the center by preventing White from putting two pawns in the center
♟ 1.d4 with the Tarrasch Defense – when facing the Queen’s Gambit (White’s most popular Queen’s Pawn opening), you strike at the center with your c-pawn and challenge White’s center

Making our central claim with a counterattack
♟ The London System – get the most bulletproof setup with quick development against this popular system

♟ Other first moves, and 2nd moves after 1.d4 d5 – be prepared for it all and stay true to the fundamentals you’ve learned even against the weird, wild, and rare tries by White

keep repeating basic principles annoying number of times (sometimes say it with a beard then later repeat it without the beard 😁)

Decent course. Compared to his other courses, this course is relatively simple and faster to learn. Probably the nature of Grunfeld opening itself could be a reason.
